Family Visitation Facilitator

Job Summary:

The Family Visitation Facilitator is a non-clinical role responsible for facilitating and supervising court-ordered or agency-approved supervised visitation between children and their noncustodial parent(s). This position ensures visits are safe, structured, positive, and child-centered while maintaining compliance with court orders, agency policies, and ethical standards. The Facilitator maintains neutrality, provides redirection when needed, and documents factual observations related to visitation sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate and supervise parent–child visitation sessions in accordance with court orders, agency policies, and visitation guidelines.

Maintain a safe, structured, and child-centered environment during visits.

Support positive interaction between children and parents while remaining neutral and non-clinical.

Monitor conversations and interactions to ensure inappropriate topics, behaviors, or boundary violations do not occur.

Provide redirection as needed to maintain safety, appropriateness, and emotional well-being of children.

Intervene appropriately to de-escalate concerns and ensure compliance with visitation rules.

Observe and document visits objectively, accurately, and timely, including visitation notes and incident reports as required.

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical, professional, and organizational standards.

Communicate concerns, compliance issues, or notable observations to the Family Visitation Coordinator.

Demonstrate professionalism, consistency, and respect in all interactions with children, families, and staff.

Qualifications:

Associate degree (AA) or completion of up to 60 college credits preferred.

Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children and families.

Experience in supervised visitation, child High school diploma or equivalent required.

Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to remain neutral, calm, and professional in emotionally sensitive situations.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
